Buckle & Hyde opens second store

Independent handbag and accessories boutique Buckle & Hyde has opened its second store in the West Midlands selling branded and own-label handbags after securing
a “good rent deal” because of the difficult economic climate.

Buckle & Hyde opened its first store in September 2004 selling handbags and a limited range of accessories and luggage from a 600 sq ft shop in Park Street, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

The retailer has now opened its second store, a 400sq ft unit at 5 The Minories in Stratford-upon- Avon.

The niche retailer sells brands including Bodhi, Falke, Claudio Ferrici, Knomo and Rocio, and sources brands from European cities including Barcelona, Paris and Milan as well as at London Fashion Week.

Buckle & Hyde director Joanna Humber said: “We chose to open a store in Stratford because in the current market we got a really good deal on the rent.”
She added: “The weak pound has been boosting tourism to the area and a new theatre is due to open soon, which should increase footfall further.”
