The look:
Adhering to a strict palette of black, grey, beige and white, Burberry introduced its most cautious collection in seasons. Loosely layered silhouettes, floaty fit-and-flare dresses, and a focus on tailoring and outerwear informed the collection which drew heavily on commercially-led styling.
Key pieces:
The classic trench was reworked into a longer-lined, slouchy style with epaulettes positioned over the shoulder into the sleeve. Marl grey dresses had skirts falling below the knee from wide bands positioned across the waistline while body hugging plisse (accent on e) velvet dresses fanned out from below the waist. On outerwear, oversized double-breasted shearling coats were presented alongside knitted trench coats and boxy punched velvet coats.
