Luxury British brand Burberry has teamed up with Twitter to create the first ever ‘Tweetwalk’ show, debuting spring 12 looks before models even step onto the catwalk.
The brand is set to showcase its Burberry Prorsum spring 12 collection at London Fashion Week this afternoon and will post backstage pictures using the social networking site. Every look will be shared online via Twitter before the models hit the runway.
Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey said: “Twitter is instantaneous and I love the idea that streaming a show can be in many different forms. This collection is all about the most detailed hand crafted pieces and fabric innovation, creating a beautiful physical experience that is communicated digitally in dynamic and diverse ways and I love balancing those two worlds.’’
Burberry is also set to stream its show in HD through Facebook and has created a link for its fans to stream the show through their own personal Facebook page.
British photographer Mike Kis will be sharing his exclusive images live from the show via photo sharing app Instagram. Burberry will also stream its show alongside extras such as red carpet interviews on YouTube.
