Wolf & Badger is a Notting Hill boutique that enables high-end independent designers to showcase and sell their work in the store and online at www.wolfandbadger.com.
When entering the website you are greeted with a splash screen with little emphasis on displaying products or engaging with potential customers.
However, the ‘Online Shop’ section has a more typical ecommerce layout with clear design and imagery that immediately catches the eye. To grab attention, decrease bounce rate and enhance search engine optimisation,
I’d suggest moving this first page of the online shop to the home page.
There are four ways to shop: by designer, style, item and search. By style and by item are good ways to shop, but here they could be made clearer and easier to navigate. The search on the site could also be improved. When I searched for ‘dresses’, one necklace and no dresses were returned even though there were eight dresses on the site.
The product pages are well designed, although I prefer an image zoom that expands the entire product. The checkout process is a plus point.
It is not mandatory to register and free UK next day delivery is standard.
Overall, Wolf & Badger is a great concept and stylishly executed. However, it could smooth out the buying process to decrease dropout, which would increase sales for the site and the designers.
