Preparing for Peak: Understanding peak trading trends

What is this?

Bringing you Content From the Industry

It’s coming up to that time of the year again. The fashion industry is relentlessly preparing for peak, and the most innovative and customer-aligned brands will be soaring ahead.

Poq has examined more than 30m sessions during the peak trading period (fourth quarter 2017), looking specifically at fashion retail apps on the Poq platform to bring you the App Commerce Peak Trading Report. This report gives an in-depth analysis of how consumers are choosing to spend on their favourite brands during the peak period. It highlights the exact days that are better for conversion, shows which channels experience the most revenue and reveals the fluctuations in shopping app downloads.

This is essential reading for brands preparing for the busiest time of the year. Key findings include:

  • On average, app revenue as a percentage of mobile grew 2.2x to account for 22% of mobile revenue on Black Friday
  • Q4 accounted for one-third of total app revenue in 2017
  • November app revenues grew by 134% year on year
  • Shoppers spent, on average, 3.6x more in shopping apps than on retail mobile websites.
