Textile tradeshow Tissu Premier saw a 7% increase in visitor numbers last month, after organisers brought the two-day event forward three months.
Tissu has traditionally taken place in January and September, but last year it moved the latter show to June, to avoid clashes with rival textile fairs Premiere Vision and Munich Fabric Start.
The new date saw a 7% rise in footfall, with 60% of visitors coming from Collections Fast Fashion Lille, a private-label fast fashion tradeshow that runs in tandem at the same location, in the Grand Palais in Lille.
The majority of visitors were from France, with international numbers down by 9% compared to the June edition of the show.
Over half of the visitors - 58% - were from the womenswear sector while 22% were from menswear and 20% were looking at textiles for kidswear.
The next edition of Tissu Premier takes place at the Grand Palais, Lille on June 5-6.
