Autumn 12

One trend that was more standout than stealth was camouflage – first seen at Pitti Uomo and the men’s fashion weeks, it was spotted at both directional and mainstream brands in Berlin. In some cases this updated the heritage look, as hunting-style waxed jackets and parka options featured all-over patterns. Elsewhere, smaller camo accents didn’t go unnoticed, worked as more commercial patterned linings and on collars or trims. Camo-covered accessories were also key. The mix of green shades worked well with the season’s key forest-hued palette, while some brands created abstract geometric and multicoloured versions.
