Casablanca textile shows to draw 150 exhibitors

Up to 150 exhibitors are due to show at this year’s Maroc In Mode and Maroc Sourcing, which will be held in Casablanca on October 10 to 12.

Manufacturing and sourcing show Maroc in Mode will showcase a number of Moroccan manufacturers, who are already working for well-known European retailers including Zara, H&M, Otto, Diesel and A-Denim.

Product ranges on show will span womenswear, menswear, and kidswear as well as sportswear and knits. The show will also highlight innovations by Moroccan denim specialists.

Meanwhile, Maroc Sourcing will feature textile producers from around the world. A programme of events and seminars will also take place over the two days.

Visitors from across Europe, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and France, will attend the two shows, with brands such as Lacoste, Diesel and Max Mara expected to send delegates.

Morocco is positioning itself as a manufacturing alternative to China for international fashion brands and retailers with private label lines. The export market for textiles and apparel in Morocco was worth €1.76bn ((£1.4bn) between January and July 2012.
