Contemporary womenswear independent Chameleon has launched a transactional website to target international customers.
The site went live last month and Kerry Farrer, co-owner of the Carlisle-based retailer, said the response to date had been positive. “We haven’t started marketing the site yet, other than to our customer database,” she said. “But the response from our database has been good.”
As well as targeting overseas customers, Farrer will market the site in southern Scotland and north-east England via local press adverts. She said: “We will also introduce links between our site and the websites of the brands we stock, which helps to raise our profile on Google.”
Brands stocked by Chameleon include By Malene Birger, Sarah Arnett and Paige Premium Denim. Other functions to be added to the site include a customer wish list, a news page with promotions and a monthly fashion column by co-owner Jessica Farrer.
