Chris Ronnie resigns from JJB Sports

Chris Ronnie the chief executive of JJB Sports has resigned, one month after he was suspended.

A statement issued by Ronnie’s law firm Pannone earlier today said that Ronnie had reached a financial settlement on Tuesday.

JJB Sports suspended Ronnie last month while it launched an investigation into his shareholding in the company. It emerged that Ronnie’s stake had passed to the administrators of Kaupthing at some point last year.

Ronnie had a 27.5% stake in JJB Sports.

Ronnie said in a statement issued by his lawyers Pannone that he had always maintained he had not knowingly breached any disclosure obligations in relation to his shareholding in JJB Sports.
