Claire’s Stores, the accessories chain, has appointed Beatrice Lafon as its new president of business in Europe.
Lafon’s new role will be to lead growth and expansion across the affordable accessories retailer’s European operations. She will have direct responsibility for buying, merchandising and allocation, supply chain, stores and the overall operations of 1100 stores in 13 countries, including the UK and Ireland.
Lafon said: “I look forward to working with the entire Claire’s European organisation and partnering with the global team, in bringing further refinement to the European merchandise assortment, improving sales and EBITDA results, and growing what is already an exceptional retail brand.”
With nearly 30 years of experience, Lafon has worked in buying and merchandising at Dorothy Perkins and in management and executive roles at River Island, Woolworths, Homebase, Etam Group, TJ Hughes and Marks and Spencer, where she began her career.
The company’s CEO, Gene Kahn, said: “Beatrice brings a broad background including an impressive merchandise affinity, in-depth understanding of fashion, and strong acumen in stores execution and operations.”
Lafon replaces Kenny Wilson as European president. He filled the role for two and a half years.
