Arcadia’s Evans will stage the UK’s first plus size catwalk show during London Fashion Week including collaborations with a range of designers.
The retailer has worked with designers including Vita Gottlieb, Lulu Liu, and Giles Deacon to produce plus size garments in a collaborative project called the Design Collective. As part of the show designs by the winners of this year’s CUT for Evans competition - which encourages young fashion students to enter designs to be produced by the retailer - will also be featured.
The show on Tuesday (September 16) will feature garments from Evans’ spring 15 collection, made up of collaborative ranges and in-house designs under the supervision of head of design Rebecca Vahn Reicher.
Evans brand director Fiona Ross said: “We’ve always believed that fashion should be accessible whatever your size. We want to move beyond being seen as a plus-size retailer; it’s fashion first for us.
“The whole dialogue has changed over the past four or five years, it’s become more and more accepting, and this is starting to come together as a conversation in the media. I think this show is going to cause a stir.”
