Shoppers have been unable to reach parts of Topshop’s website following a technical error which has been affecting the site for much of the day.
Users have not been able to access key pages, including a ‘sneak preview’ Sale page which was launched this morning via a mailshot campaign. They have been unable to add products to their checkout area to make online purchases.
Some shoppers could not reach the Topshop Sale pages despite following a link from the promotional email sent to customers. When they clicked through to the page an error message appeared which read: “A system error has occured. We’re sorry for any convenience”.
Several shoppers took to social networking site Twitter to vent their anger at the retailer, with some reporting they had been unable to access the Sale page for several hours.
One user said: “It’s been over 3 and a half hours and @Topshop still haven’t fixed their website”.
Another shopper tweeted: “I just want to order some clothes for my holiday, how is it taking 3 hours to fix?!”
Topshop was unavailable for comment.
