Sometimes we all know one size doesn’t fit all and in fashion if that was the case wouldn’t life be simple instead of having to do a range or each style in the most popular sizes.
So over the last twelve months it has been a real eye opener entering the little known world of affiliate marketing and this approach is used so widely yet on a sector which is known for its own distinctive style.
If you don’t know affiliate marketing is where you sign up to a scheme and then sign up with a retailer and then as a site or blogger you make a small commission when your readers click though and purchase something – I would say a good 70% of blogs/ sites are written with love, commitment and passion and are usually written by someone who dedicates hours of love to making their blog /site appealing – most write about products they have bought and adore and this strong word of mouth recommendation off your site about your brand is amazing PR money can’t buy as it’s the most pure form of brand sentiment.
So why do retailers sign up to schemes and then do nothing with them other than pump out discounted offers or hand them over to someone who does this – imagine if every high traffic top chic blog wrote about that dodgy coat your trying to get rid of with 20% off what your Google search would look like and how your brand would look ……Trashed.
So why don’t brands join up the dots it’s not difficult and explain to their PR their online strategy and what they are doing and then get their affiliate people in and join forces with the PR – bloggers and sites love fresh stories about new stock not recycled discounts and trust me after putting my money where my mouth is the cookie cutter approach doesn’t work ,show the same love as the blogger do about their site to your stock and you’ll attract a whole new audience and customer who will pay full price and be loyal.
If you’re not sure ask me who as every blogger dreams of giving up work and just blogging about your products.
