Comment on: Brexit fears fuel worst-ever September
As I have mentioned previously Brexit plays its part but there are much wider issues facing our industry. Changing shopping habits and priorities, lack of product innovation and over supply all play a significant part. There are still successful brands and retailers out there... they understand their consumer, market the product and excite !
Comment on: US tariffs 'catastrophic' to UK-made fashion
Gut feeling is that the value is well over the £35m quoted, in other times this would be a major news story and concern for our industry , but I suspect that the focus on Brexit has let this creep in without big protests.
Hi Kirsty, understand your sentiments, and KM is not alone. L.K.Bennett was another.... pioneering and successful in their time.. but the market is rapidly changing and brutal if the 'story' isnt perfect. The change towards a much more casual product has finished a number of brands. The message as always is to stay relevant and know exactly who you consumer is.
Comment on: Boohoo buys Karen Millen
