David Gandy stole the show at OFW !

I was asked to attend  Oxford Fashion Week and be on a panel with Tony Mc Gee, fabulous photographer extra-ordinaire; Dolly Jones, glamourous Editor of; fabulous Claire Wilcox, curator at the V&A and finally stunning male model Dolce & Gabbana model David Gandy! We enjoyed 2 hours of Q&A with the students and personally I found the whole experience so fascinating.

The debating chamber was packed with inquisitive minds and a passion for fashion. One of the first questions asked was: What has been your most embarrassing moment ( in fashion)?….
At that point David Gandy certainly stole the show! Check out his answer on .

David Gandy and Frances Card

It wasn’t all about David of course but it was interesting to know that it hadn’t been easy for him to break into modelling – even looking like he does! All the panelists had wise words of wisdom and we all appreciated Oxford celebrating Fashion as a career. I do urge anyone from the industry to take a look at the website – Oxford was a great source of new innovation.

It was pleasure to be invited to the Morton Metropolis Gallery and see the fabulous Britt Lintner Collection. Britt Lintner, founder and designer, decided to hold a great show mid season to let us all have an opportunity to see her collection when we really want to be wearing it. With dresses priced between £350 - £550  Britt has dressed some of the world most influential women including Sarah Brown.

In a time of some of the slowest retail sales growth, women’s wear label Britt Lintner is bucking the trend by reporting record sales in early 2010.

Britt has recently been joined by Catharine Patha as the Creative and Commercial Director, and Suzanne Lloyd as the Development and Production Manager.

Britt will be launching her e-commerce site in July but in the meantime do catch up with the collection at:

Never heard of Oxford Fashion Week - what a beautiful venue for it to be held in. Your red dress really stood out and you look amazing! I am going to get in your wardrobe one day and find out what labels are in there and I will be looking for that red dress!

I have also never heard of Oxford Fashion Week, it is great to hear that regional fashion events of this calibre take place igniting local "passion for fashion" rather than just another London based event.
