Denny of Southwold in Suffolk

In the heart of the not-so-sleepy seaside town of Southwold in Suffolk, home of the very drinkable Adnams beer, lies an uplifting independent which has a ‘must-visit’ feel.

Denny of Southwold is in its 150th year. It started life as a tailor’s shop with eight tailors making suits for gentry farmers and land workers. Over the years it has successfully evolved to fit in with the changing times. Today the shop is run by owner Lyn Knights and manager/buyer Micheline Williams.

When you first enter what is at first sight a shop rooted in the past, you are delightfully surprised at the wonderful depth and warmth of colour inside.

Its offer is irresistible, from the table laden with beautiful scarves to the rails of smart casual styles for both men and women.

Denny of Southwold has no need for the latest state-of-the-art shop design and lighting to sell the merchandise - the product is all the shop needs to entice customers.
