Sacked designer John Galliano has been persuaded by friends to go into rehab after being fired by design powerhouse Christian Dior for an alleged anti-Semantic drunken outburst, according to reports.
Friends of Galliano told the New York Times they had “finally persuaded the troubled designer to go immediately into rehab - and that the pace of fashion today, and particularly the rigorous structure of a corporate fashion house, broke the fragile, artistic creator.”
Sources close to the fifty year old British designer have also indicated he will fight his dismissal.
Galliano is understood to have employed London lawyer Gerrard Tyrell, of firm Harbottle and Lewis, who represented Kate Moss in 2005 when she faced allegations of using cocaine.
It is unclear if Christian Dior will show its AW11 catwalk show during Paris Fashion Week this Friday, despite previously saying it would go ahead.
Galliano’s representative could not be reached for comment by the time of publication.
