A hit and miss offering from Kriss Van Assche in a range that smacks of a designer trying just a little bit too hard. A range of silhouettes veered from the skinny black suit silhouettes of Dior Homme’s revival days to the long line T-shirts, which used Henry Holland style shout-loud slogans. More innovative were the detailings, which included the asymmetric fastenings deployed on tailoring and the oversized funnel necks on treated tops.
Low slung waistcoats contrasted with crisp white shirts with tiny collars offered an angular aesthetic and a sharpening up of the smart casual look that otherwise was reminiscent of a rocky Ann Demeulemeester with black layered tailoring. A more relaxed aesthetic pervaded the casualwear offering as van Assche persisted with the harem pant.
