The Look:
It was a grown up head on DKNY’s shoulders for autumn 09, as Chanel-inspired suits and puppytooth pencil skirts replaced last season’s slouchy boyfriend jeans. Sweetheart necklines were swapped for safe-sell chin skimming options and hemlines took a demure turn, sticking firmly below the knee. Glimpses of the trademark DKNY younger aesthetic came through on pattern pairing, such as leopard with tartan, but other than that it was left up to the bright primary shades peppering the collection to keep the offer fresh.

Key Pieces:
Animal effect knitwear was teamed with checked pencil skirts, while oversized slate grey capes looked chic worn with matching pegged trousers.
