Dorothy Perkins buying boss jumps ship to Debenhams

Debenhams has appointed former Dorothy Perkins buying director Delia Phillips as director of buying for women’s accessories.

Phillips, who started last week, is responsible for handbags, shoes, swimwear, jewellery and watches, and will manage the buying teams. She replaces Amanda Wain, who moved to New Look last month in the newly created role of director of footwear.

Phillips was buying director for Dorothy Perkins for five years and before that was Arcadia head of buying.

Arcadia confirmed it would replace Phillips.

  • Debenhams takes on New Look, Primark, River Island, French Connection and John Lewis in the accessories category at this year’s Drapers Footwear & Accessories Awards on May 1. To reserve seats at the event, email george.thornton@emap.com
