Pixsta, the UK-based image search company, has launched an online shopping portal carrying more than 1,000 fashion brands and retailers.
Empora.com allows customers to browse products by style, colour and cut and features the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Karen Millen, Tommy Hilfiger and Warehouse.
Pixsta said it has applied its image-to-image search technology, which allows customers to click on an image and search for similar items to those featured in the image. The site will compete with the likes of Shopstyle.com.
An Empora spokesman said: “Searching by style creates a tailor-made shopping experience that will appeal to shoppers of every taste and budget. Our audience know what they are looking for but don’t have the time to spend trawling through traditional outlets to find what they want.”
