Premium womenswer brand Escada has launched its first transactional website

Premium womenswer brand Escada has launched its first transactional website in its home market of Germany.

The site, which also trades in Austria, officially launched on March 8. Other European territories will be added over the course of the next year.

This is the first time that Escada has ever traded online through its own transactional website and the site offers both the mainline Escada and sub-brand Escada Sport ranges.

Customers are offered express shipping via the site, which is being operated by platform provider Hermes NexTec, and a free 14 day returns policy.

Escada chief executive Bruno Sälzer  said: “Digital engagement is more and more important for the image of a brand.

“The Escada e-store is an important step in the development of our digital activities.”

In January this year Denise Shepherd, the managing director of the UK arm of Escada, left the business as part of a company restructure.
