Luxury tailoring retailer Crombie is to make its womenswear range available at wholesale for autumn 13.
The move follows a successful launch of Crombie’s menswear collection as a wholesale brand for the current season, 15 years after exiting the market.
Head of wholesale Gordon Ritchie said there had been a “hugely positive” response to menswear, with many buyers asking for womenswear, too.
The wholesale women’s coat collection will feature 12 pieces, including cashmere wrap coats, overcoats and classic Crombie styles at wholesale prices from £213 to £465.
Crombie, whose menswear has 65 stockists worldwide, will set its sights on luxury department stores and indies.
Ritchie said: “We’re looking to target stores that sell brands such as Belstaff and Burberry – very high-end luxury brands, and also heritage.”
Crombie has also launched a men’s capsule collection for immediate delivery for autumn 12 to push the wholesale division more widely. It features 12 coat styles such as the classic Crombie, pea coats and archive pieces at wholesale prices from £249 to £356.
