Exclusive: Icon Live puts 40 jobs in consultation

High street jewellery supplier Icon Live has entered consultation with its head office staff over redundancies affecting up to 40 positions.

The company, which supplies jewellery and accessories to high street retailers such as Oasis, Lipsy and Asda, told Drapers the consultation followed significant changes to the business’s support functions, made over the last 12 months.

Chief executive Dominic Galvin told Drapers: “In the past 12 months the business has focused significantly on strengthening the controls and foundation of the business.

“While we have always had a strong product offer and excellent customer service levels we need to improve our supply chain, stock management processes and strengthening resources in support functions.”

He added that the consultation affected only those in the head office, in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. The process is expected to conclude in the new year.

  • Both Icon Live and Hallett making cost savings through restructuring. Is the concession model broken because the host retailers take such an astronomical commission on sales? Host retailers making short term gains but they'll suffer in the longterm when service levels drop.
