Footwear brand and retailer Moda in Pelle is embarking on an ambitious programme of expansion for 2013 with plans to open six new stores and 100 new wholesale accounts.
According to Moda in Pelle’s managing director for wholesale Clare Buck, the retailer has half a dozen new stores confirmed for the first half of 2013, although she did not reveal locations.
Moda in Pelle has just launched its first retail presence in Northern Ireland with the opening of a concession in independent department store Moores of Coleraine last week.
The brand is also targeting 100 new wholesale stockists for autumn 13, with a focus on independent boutiques, adding to its 250 existing accounts that include etailer Viva la Diva and Carino Boutique in Omagh, Northern Ireland.
Buck said Moda in Pelle had developed its product offer for autumn 13 with the introduction of new casual styles including ballet flats and boots.
“We have widened our appeal by focusing on fit and quality and as the business has grown we are developing our own designs, not buying off the shelf, to give us a unique point of difference,” she added.
Moda in Pelle has also seen strong growth from its website with like-for-like sales up by 30% in 2012.
The business will launch a new ecommerce platform in 2013 to support the businesses online growth.
