Fashion brands scoop Queen's Awards

Leather accessories brand The Cambridge Satchel Company and lifestyle clothing label Seasalt have both received Queen’s Awards.

The Cambridge Satchel Company was recognised for outstanding achievement in international trade while Seasalt took the award for sustainable development.

The Queen’s Awards mark success in business and were announced on April 21, the Queen’s birthday.

All winners of the awards receive a grant of appointment, the right to bear a royal emblem for five years, a crystal chalice presented by a representative of the Royal family, and an invitation to meet The Queen at Buckingham Palace.

The Cambridge Satchel Company founder Julie Deane said: “We couldn’t be happier or feel more proud.”

Seasalt’s joint managing director Neil Chadwick added: “Winning the Queens Award is a fabulous recognition of the passion that everybody in Seasalt has for running a sustainable business.”
