I was thrilled to be able to spend some time with Sandrine Deveaux the E commerce and Marketing Director of Matches Fashion.
Sandrine’s career has been firmly based in ecommerce and brand development. She was a consultant with Ernest and Young as far back as 1998 on online developments and soon moved to KPE . Among her clients she was responsible for Joseph (developing the on-line brand strategy) and Ralph Lauren Media (developing the web marketing).
At Bloomberg TV, her next port of call, Sandrine was Head of Content. Though a very different role it was all about driving traffic and developing brand awareness – cores of her skill set.
Moving onto AOL Sandrine headed the development of online products and services. This involved identifying key customer needs based on consumer insights and data analysis, designing consumer propositions, developing business cases for board sign off, negotiating commercial deals, driving marketing planning and campaign execution and generally managing operational teams.
Sandrine joined Matches in October 2008. Matches ecommerce site www.matchesfashion.com is a global phenomenon taking on the might of net-a-porter and other luxury brand sites. Sandrine has driven growth in the development along with the company owners Ruth and Tom Chapman and is proud of the positioning the site has today.
Sandrine enjoys living in the UK though appreciates France every time she goes back, especially the mountains where are parents live. It’s not surprising then that her loves are skiing, fashion and chocolate – as a great multi tasker I am sure she can carry out all at the same time! Her dislikes of arrogance, the tube and rain made me wonder if we may lose Sandrine back to her homeland one day…..here’s hoping not!
BSK: I recently went to the beautiful and truly emotional wedding of my dear friend Stine, www.swarovski-crystallized.com, to her (now) husband Simon Glover. It was absolutely magical – but so was the wonderful gift registry.
www.our-dream-honeymoon.co.uk this revolutionary site allowed me to buy them a meal in a beautiful location on their honeymoon in Thailand. I could have bought them a bottle of champagne for the flight, massages or a room upgrade….the list went on! What a wonderful idea!
