Gap saw international like-for-like sales, which include its UK sales, fall by 5% in June.
Gap saw total group sales fall 9% to $1.29 billion (£794.2 million) over the month.
Like-for-like sales at Gap’s US stores were down 10% and Banana Republic saw sales fall 20%. Old Navy comparable sales fell by 7%.
Gap’s chief financial officer, Sabrina Simmons said: “June was a transitional month as all of our brands made progress clearing through summer merchandise. We’re pleased that our total company merchandise margins were above last year.”
Year-to-date sales were $5.45bn (£3.35bn) for the 22 weeks ended July 4, down 7% on same period the previous year. Total year-to-date like-for-likes were down 8%.
