Gareth Pugh

The collection

A vampish, skinny silhouette formed the core of the tailoring offer for the gothic Pugh in his first Paris showing where the oil slick black suits took his midnight aesthetic took the extreme. And with Delphine Arnault (LVMH ceo Bernaud’s daughter) in the audience, the rumour of Pugh’s ascension to the Dior Homme hot seat was further fuelled. Skinny black suiting… Dior Homme…anybody else see a well made match?

Key items

Pugh’s sci-fi villains donned long line glistening black macs with high and wide revers while belted tunic coats offered a more obviously waisted silhouette. This ethic was taken up on the use of cummerbund waists and matador jackets while a black on black panelled 1sb jackets employed an elasticated waistband and the angular styling was topped off with an exaggerated pagoda shoulder.
