Gerry Weber agrees footwear licensing deal with Josef Seibel

German mainstream womenswear brand Gerry Weber has signed a licensing deal with footwear brand Josef Seibel to produce and sell a range of Gerry Weber footwear.

The agreement, which was signed on August 1, will see the first range of footwear from Josef Seibel for Gerry Weber launched for the autumn 13 season.

The aim of the licensing agreement, according to Gerry Weber, is for Josef Seibel to produce a range of footwear which combines both fashion and comfort while also incorporating elements of the brand’s clothing collection.

“We have searched for a long time to find the perfect partner for our vision of the Gerry Weber shoe,” said Silke Sauer Gerry Weber head of accessories and licences.

“We were not willing to make compromises here. We wanted a shoe which is comfortable but which also highlights the fashionable orientation of our collection. A fashion brand with comfort – that makes us unique in the sector.”

“More and more people are looking for products which have both aesthetic and functional aspects,” added Carl-August Seibel owner of Josef Seibel.

“In the shoe sector, too, we are seeing huge demand for comfortable products which also meet high standards of fashion.”
