The look:
Undulating layers of chiffon, slipper silk and crepe were draped, ruched and gathered at Givenchy, creating a powerful and sculptural yet delicate look. Chainmail bodices were overlaid by barely-there chiffon, gowns had a bondage-wrapped look and swathes of fabric were gathered at the models’ shoulder or hip nodding to Roman or Scottish warriors.

Key pieces:
Bias cut gowns borrowed their slim silhouettes, trumpet-fluted long skirts and feathered trims from the 1930s whilst the giant puffed shoulders and curved lines of body con dresses were straight out of the 1980s. The palette of clay, white, lemon and silver with a  smattering of black was clean and optimistic.
