The half-term holiday helped John Lewis to a better week but sales remained down 1.5% at £45.1 million for the week ended February 21.
Fashion sales at John Lewis rose 2.6% over the week, with kidswear putting in a strong performance. Sports also showed a rise of 14% on the back of the department store’s “Get Fit after Christmas” campaign.
JohnLewis.com saw sales rise 11%. Six other branches were in positive territory, led by Newcastle and Cambridge which were up 8.8% and 8.5% respectively.
