Harvey Nichols is to launch a small format store in regional shopping centre Liverpool ONE, what the luxury department store says is a new store concept.
Harvey Nichols will open a store in Liverpool ONE in autumn - a 22,000 sq ft space formerly occupied by Habitat. No further details of the concept or brand mix are yet available but the company said it will reveal further details in the spring.
Joseph Wan, chief executive of Harvey Nichols, said: “Liverpool ONE serves a large catchment area, with a loyal and discerning customer, and there is no better place from which to launch this exciting new concept.”
In August, it was reported that the department store was close to signing its first new format Beauty Bazaar shops and was eyeing Liverpool One shopping centre as a potential destination.
Miles Dunnett, head of asset management, Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, said that footfall for 2011 at Liverpool ONE increased by more than 5% compared to 2010, with sales increasing by over 10% for the year.
This store will be Harvey Nichols’ second opening in Liverpool ONE in twelve months. In September, Harvey Nichols Foodmarket pop-up shop made its debut in Liverpool ONE’s Peter’s Lane.
