Henri Lloyd eyes international expansion with Lotus F1 team

British heritage brand Henri Lloyd has signed a deal to create a range of clothing for the Lotus Formula 1 team.

The Salford-based company will design travelling clothes for team members, which will also be available to buy. The apparel will be seen for the first time at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 17, the first race of 2013 season.

It is hoped the deal will help Henri Lloyd, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, expand into new markets.

The brand, which is run by Martin and Paul Strzelecki, sons of founder Henry,  already produces a range for Olympic sailor Ben Ainslie.

Commenting on the deal, Paul Strzelecki said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Lotus F1 Team, a team that reflects our proud British heritage, product technology.”

Henri Strzelecki, who co-founded the company in 1963 with Angus Lloyd, passed away on Boxing Day.
