Sports styles naturally dominate in this busy store with competitively priced stock.

As Foot Locker specialises in casual footwear with a sports, skating or fashion slant, it offers a wide mix of styles for both men and women. Having such a wide selection of colourways, fabric mixes and styles means some of its product is different to other stores visited in Chester, with some being Foot Locker exclusives, giving the store a point of difference. As well as fashion styles, Foot Locker is one of the only stores here that offers true performance footwear, including for running, football and skating. It was also one of the busiest stores, with crowds of school kids trying styles on. It’s interesting that some styles are missing from the offer, such as Vans plimsolls that are popular or copied elsewhere.
Many of the prices at Foot Locker and nearby competitor Office are exactly the same, such as men’s Nike Air Max at £89.99, men’s retro Nike Blazer hi-tops at £66.99 and a women’s basic low Converse Chuck Taylor at £42.99, although Foot Locker does have some colourways that Office does not.
Some of the most interesting window displays in Chester are here at Foot Locker, with shoe laces used to show off the best of the product. Inside, shoes are all displayed against the two longest walls on shelves but using different objects and materials to keep things interesting. Staff were helpful and very quick in fetching requested sizes for customers to try on. The store is cramped though, with small aisles, and the music is a touch too loud.
