In the second part of our spring 15 high street review, it’s the turn of men’s retailers to be given the once-over
Our second spring 15 survey returns to west London to scope out this season’s high street menswear offer. Taking our secret shopping scoreboard we visited value, premium, mainstream and young fashion stores to judge their latest collections and shopping experiences.
While there were some strong product ranges, with sporty performancewear areas in the likes of H&M and some great formalwear and suiting offers from retailers such as Next and Marks & Spencer, as with last week’s womenswear report customer service was the main drawback. Some shop floors were deserted, and when shop assistants were available many were far from helpful.
Points were won and lost according to retailer’s product ranges, customer service, value for money and in-store experience, including window displays and visual merchandising.
The stores were judged at Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush (except Primark, for which we visited the nearby Hammersmith branch) and were visited on March 30 and 31.
