Oasis - Unit 20, Bon Accord Shopping Centre
Product looks great, showing key trends not seen elsewhere and plenty of options in each. Oriental florals on playsuits, blazers, blouses, skirts and trousers are a highlight, while party dresses come in pastels or jewel tones. Other trends are neon, orange and monochrome. The nautical trend - anchor-print shirts and Breton stripes - is less bold than at Topshop and River Island.
For the size of the shop there is a really good range, from outerwear to basics, denim and occasionwear, as well as key trend-led pieces.
No obvious categories are missing. A good range of size options are on display, despite fewer larger sizes than in other stores.
Prices seem lower than previous seasons, which may be because of the different options within each trend: cheaper floral camisoles are £25, while blouses are £35 to £40. At £48, a faux-leather biker jacket is cheaper than most on the market. Where prices are higher, such as a £75 playsuit, it is made of silk. However, £40 to £55 for jeans is quite expensive, when Next has items of comparable quality for around £30.
The changing rooms have fabric-covered walls and are comfortable. Staff were friendly and available, manning changing rooms, keeping an eye on the counter and chatting to customers on the shop floor.
Visual Merchandising 9/10
Oasis’s windows are the most innovative of any store reviewed, featuring a bird theme with props, and mannequins display the floral trend. Inside, neat table displays are colourful and stocked with basics such as plain knits, while mannequins show off an impressive variety of product.
