Swedish fast fashion retailer H&M has opened its first store in Mexico and launched a Mexican version of its website.
The retailer opened the doors of its store in Centro Comercial Santa Fe, Mexico City last week to a crowd of over 1,500 waiting shoppers.
The 4,520 sq ft store is spread over three floors and employs around 200 people.
“We are also excited to finally be expanding our business concept here within Latin America and hope to grow our following in this region,” said Daniel Kulle, continental manager for H&M North America.
Following the opening in Mexico, the retailer intends to continue its expansion in South America with the opening of a store in Chile in spring 2013.
