H&M reports like-for-like sales rise for February

Like-for-like sales at Swedish young fashion chain Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) rose 2% in February.

Total sales including VAT increased by 13% compared to February last year, however sales during the month were positively affected by about 3 percentage points due to the leap day on February 29.

For the first quarter, December 1 to February 29, like-for-like sales increased by 3% with total sales increasing by 13%.

The total number of stores amounted to 2,491 on 29 February 2012 versus 2,212 on 28 February 2011.
