H&M turns around like-for-like sales with 8% rise

H&M’s like-for-like sales rose 8% in April, the first monthly like-for-like rise that the young fashion chain has reported in eight months.

Total sales in local currencies at H&M rose 19% in April compared to the same month last year. The like-for-like sales increase is the first since a 3% rise in July 2008.

H&M launched its latest designer tie up withe Matthew Williamson in April and the menswear collection went into stores yesterday.

H&M had 1,804 on April 30 compared to 1,560 at the same time last year.
