This essential trend for paintbox colour on footwear and accessories has been noted both on and off the catwalks, particularly in Milan, where our style scouts recently spotted these examples.
Key to this look are classic silhouettes built from colour-blocked panels, and unexpected combinations prevail such as regal shades of red and purple, which are balanced with nostalgic hues of rose or buttercup.
This look works equally well styled with bare legs or black opaques (or in the case of one of our style-setters (pictured), black opaques with red panels at the toe and heel to contrast with the purple of the sandal), meaning it will carry from spring into autumn and works great with our 1960s Pop accessories trend for A/W 11/12 (Drapers, April 8).
