Blog: A shoe boot summer

How much have you loved this season’s shoe boot phenomena? Well, never fear, footwear retailers, you won’t have to throw out all your unsold stock of these hybrid styles, as judging by the catwalks the trend is set to continue into next spring.

Dolce & Gabbana exemplified the best of the shoe boot offer, with a gold and wine lace-up brocade design, while black patent varieties featured on a multitude of runways, including Gucci and Rodnik. Black patent looks set to be a staple of next summer, and came with a new inverted pyramid-shaped heel at Chloé.

Also worth keeping an eye out for are longer lace-up boots, which came in futuristic silver at Chanel and with an artistic print at Manish Arora.

At the other end of the spectrum, super-skinny styles emulated the catwalk models, being taller than average with tiny diameters. These were the more commercial of the styles on show, but which do you think is the most wearable for next season?
