Caren Downie

Buying director, womenswear,

My favourite trend of the last decade was the skinny jean - it changed the denim silhouette and the way women dress. It’s a trend that started in 2005 and isn’t going away anytime soon. It’s been a big seller for Asos, as skinnies have become a wardrobe staple and this season we can’t get enough of jeggings.

Shoulder pads have also been amazing this season - I have been very surprised how quickly people picked up on the trend, and dresses have been the key product category of the last ten years.

My full length Ozzie Clark dress is my most cherished piece of clothing of the last decade and my favourite fashion moment was having dinner with Catherine Deneuve at the Elle Fashion Awards in Madrid when Markus Lupfer won Designer of the Year.
