Church’s launches e-commerce site

Church & Co, the classic English footwear brand owned by the Prada Group, has launched a transactional website.

The site at www.church-footwear.com will sell men’s and women’s footwear in 17 countries worldwide. The launch will considerably extend the market reach of the footwear company, which currently has standalone stores in eight countries.

Church’s, which is famous for its goodyear welted men’s shoes was bought by Prada in 1999 and has 30 retail stores and more than 800 wholesale stockists worldwide.

Last month Church’s former directors William Church, who is the great-great grandson of one of the founders of the Church brand, and his third cousin Jonathan Church, left the company to run Cheaney, which they bought from Church & Co in a management buy out.
