Country Girls

Although designers largely refocused attention on the 1960s, the 1970s still looks commercially strong, as it drives many of the season’s key items.

We feel the new direction here is to fuse 1970s inspirations with a country-heritage aesthetic (as at Blugirl). This is where we place the season’s rich winter darks - oxblood, old gold, mallard and petrol blue - all anchored with the mainstay shades of tan and cognac brown, together with the checks, plaids and tweeds. Key items include town shoes, heeled loafers (see Jill Stuart), fedoras and bucket bags (see Chloé).
