Now in its eighth year, the Drapers Next Generation project demonstrates the wealth of talent the UK fashion industry has to offer and the growing diversity of career paths open to those individuals.
Drapers Next Generation is aimed at young professionals across all disciplines who are building their careers. This year’s special is produced in association with Matalan, Next Generation’s headline sponsor for the past four years.
The centrepiece of the project is the search for Drapers 30 Under 30, which launches every September. The winners are pictured above and to find out who they are, click here to read the full special for free.
This year’s list includes a diverse mix of entrepreneurs, those with traditional roles such as merchandising, buying and design, alongside manufacturing, and new job functions such as data analysis, and even an engineer. Each have shown solid career progression, proven achievements in the roles they have held and future potential.
This Next Generation special also features: Pure Collection product director Jo Hooper on how she created her successful career spanning more than 30 years; the right way to build a fashion brand; and words of wisdom from seasoned fashion retail professionals.
On 11 May Drapers will host its annual Next Generation event in London – a one-day careers and networking conference with top fashion business leaders.
