Footwear conglomerate The Dune Group is to launch a new store concept this month for its Dune footwear chain, which will eventually incorporate a range of multichannel initiatives such as in-store iPads.
The storefit will debut at Dune’s new branch at One New Change in the City of London on October 28. It features sleek metal fixtures and fittings, mirrored walls and a palette of flesh tones and metallic hues. Daniel Rubin, Dune Group owner and chairman, said the business could roll out the new design to other Dune branches next year.
The store, Dune’s 41st, will be the first to trial hand-held mobile devices to check stock availability across the business while serving customers anywhere in the store. Customers will also be able to request next-day delivery to the store, their home or office. Dune will introduce iPads into the store later in the year to let customers view its full range.
“Multichannel is becoming much more important,” Rubin said. “Our web sales are expanding and we want to offer a full multichannel experience.”
Last month, Dune Group posted a 630% rise in operating profit to £7.3m for the year ended January 30, 10 months after it rescued footwear concession business Shoe Studio Group from administration.
