Branded footwear etailer Cloggs is set to become the latest acquisition for JD Sports Fashion.
Drapers understands that the sportswear business is poised to buy Cloggs in a deal which could be completed by the end of the day.
It is thought that the footwear etailer maybe placed into administration and then bought by JD as part of a pre-pack deal. It is believed that Cloggs will go into administration on Monday with restructuing business Begbies Traynor on standby.
Cloggs was previously linked to an acquisition by online business The Hut Group in January but a source close to the situation revealed that JD is now the front runner.
Earlier this week it was revealed that JD had bought young fashion brand Gio-Goi from administration.
Cloggs could not be reached for comment.
