Firetrap footwear licence terminated

Young fashion brand Firetrap and footwear supplier Fresh Footwear are terminating their licensing deal for the brand from next June after eight years.

It is unclear who ended the agreement or what prompted it.

Firetrap, which is owned by World Design and Trade [WDT], is understood to be seeking a new licensee. WDT is also believed to be looking for a footwear licensing partner for its Fullcircle brand.

Fresh Footwear said it would focus on building the Patrick Cox brand after signing a distribution deal with French footwear giant Groupe Royer (Drapers, June 20), which has acquired the rights to the designer brand.

Prices will be between £80 and £150, with a 2.5 mark-up.
